In an effort to grow its young adult population, one particular Rust Belt city is trying some new things. Particularly, they are aiming at gentrifying parts of the city that are heavily populated with people who do not fancy nitro brews, as well as those who do not maintain an aesthetically pleasing Instagram profile.
Local government interns will be tasked with riding fixed gear bikes around town and handing out G Units to civilians performing common tasks associated with gentrification, such as drinking a craft beverage, driving a Subaru, taking care of houseplants, wearing a beanie, or talking about hiking. G Units can be cashed in for gift cards to Wayfair and Etsy.
