In a historic month that has seen Democrats take back control of the White House and the Senate, the biggest news to come out of Washington has to be the plan to tax bird feeders that attract colorful birds. Progressives reportedly kept the plan under wraps prior to election season in an attempt to win votes from bird lovers.
Bob, a retired bird watcher from Akron, Ohio, shared his thoughts recently on the decision.
"It was the last free thing I enjoyed. Granted, I bought myself a nice pair of binoculars last fall, but that's about as much as this hobby of mine has hit the precious pocket. Maybe a little gas to make my way down to the park, but that's about it. Now, if I want to look out my back window and see a few orioles, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, what have you, I have to pay up to Uncle Sam. i just feel like there are other things they could have taxed before they came after the bird feeders in my backyard in Akron, Ohio."
The proposed tax is set to hit the Senate floor in early 2021.
